Now, for the avid Trek enthusiast, you can get your own damaged Starship Enterprise!
As any Trek watcher knows, in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, the Enterprise, a faithful carrier of officers and crew for over twenty years, was horrifically damaged by the evil, bent on revenge madman Khan. Khan caught the ship “with it’s pants down,” and took wild advantage of that. With phasers and torpedoes at his command, he virtually crippled and scarred our beloved Starship.
By the miracle of Scotty, the logic of Spock, and the determination of Kirk, the Enterprise, though still badly damaged, was able to not only outsmart Khan, but, also destroy his hopes at a revenge against Kirk. Although Khan died before seeing Kirk escape, he was able to really get Kirk where it hurt, his beloved ship.
This wonderful model shows the Enterprise, scarred and badly beaten, after Khan had seriously damaged the ship. It would make a wonderful collection to any avid collector.

Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. They were indeed the main, foundational base of our favorite show from teh 1960s. In this relationship, you had 3 differing realms of thought, and, if you think about it, the three of them together was a perfect representation of the human mind.
Kirk - Represented the Willpower, or the judgement inside the human brain. Captain Kirk acted on the sheer determination to get things done, and while potentially swayed by outside forces, used his fierce determination inside of him to get things done.
Spock represented the logical and knowledgeable side of the human mind. While only half human, he very rarely accessed that side of his persona, and, therefore, was completely cool headed, completely logical, completely fact based. Spock was the perfect to gather and compute data..a virtual “walking computer.”
McCoy, in this example of the human persona, represented the emotional/heart side. McCoy was human all the way, down to emotional strengths and weaknesses. He was more likely to make decisions, and to sway others’ decisions, by what his emotions taught him.
This collection, right here, represents the perfect collection of three best friends, who saw each other through the worst and the best, and, also, representing all that is inside of us.

Diamond Select Toys has announced a new flurry of Star Trek Action Figures are about to hit the market. I suppose with the new movie, RETRO is in style, as some of these new toys go back over forty years. In this brief summary of the article, I’ll highlight a few of the new toys, and give you a link to the article.
Starting with the oldest last, there will be a new bust of Captain Christopher Pike, whom we discussed very recently. This bust will do a great job of capturing him in his old, Pre-TOS uniform. He carries the same serious look as he always does in this one.
We get to see the Starship Enterprise from “All Good Things….” in this one, too. When I say Enterprise, I mean the futuristic one, with the extra nacelle.
We also get to play with a toy version of Mirror Kirk, from the Mirror Universe. Along with him, we get his chair, the one with the extra tall back.
We get a trio of Borg characters, as in a delivered and restored Seven, and a Fierce looking Locutus, and of course, the evil Borg Queen.
We get to get shifty and crafty, full of deceit, as we play with the Romulans. We have the surgically altared Romulan Kirk, the commander from the “Balance of Terror” episode too. We also get a few of Spock. Fascinating.
We finally get a bust of Nurse Christine Chapel. While she was never really used that much in the series, except to occasionally fall in love with Spock, she has created quite a fan following over the years.
We get to have McCoy, so, maybe McCoy and Chapel can play doctor. (No pun intended.)
And, one of the most fun things, is an original series Tricorder, in the geological series.

Hey guys!
I just came across this nifty collection of Star Trek Action Figures. In this set, you get Sulu, Chekov, Scotty, and the Mirror Universe Spock and Kirk. They stand 7 inches tall, and would make a great addition to any collection.
The mirror Spock is especially impressive, because of the goatee. It really distinguishes him from the regular Spock.
The mirror Kirk will be really good for all those Shatner groupies, as you can remember this uniform which showed off more of his chest.

Well, we have spent enough time in the Original Series, let’s get a bit more modern. Here, from Star Trek Deep Space 9, we have a 4 pack collection of Kira Nerya, General Martok(soon to become Chancellor Martock,) Dr. Julian Bashir, and Chief O’Brien.
The Dominion War brought a lot out of Star Trek Deep Space Nine. In that, we saw the grueling effects of war on families and friends. We saw death and destruction. We saw many epic space battles. We saw the consequences of love and hatred.
We saw Kirk rise up from just a Bajoran Malitia fighter/liason to have a rank of Commander Kira. Seeing her go from the bajoran uniform to a Starfleet Uniform was a great change. She did even better with the role of command on her.
The friendship of Bashir and O’Brien deepened, as they fought many battles, on, and off, the Holosuite.
We got to know the Klingon Character of Martok in this. Originally a doppleganger, kidnapped and replaced by the Founders, he was rescued and proved to be a strong, fierce warrior of much character and integrity. He was a great battle leader and an excellent strategist. In a moment of need, he stepped into the leadership of the Klingon High Council as Chancellor, and, with the assistance of Worf, helped win the the victory for the Alpha Quadrant against the Dominion.

How absoutely wonderful. Now you can have your own Star Trek experience. Although, if you haven’t heard about it by now, you may want to have a Level 3 diagnostic run on your communication’s equipment.
Want to boldly go where no one has gone before? The brand new Star Trek exhibition at the Detroit Science Center promises to take you there.
So, besides car plants and crazy northerners (just kidding, I love you all,) now Detroit can boast of a new tourist attraction - A new and improved Star Trek experience.
Visitors will be able to wander around a replica of the original Enterprise’s bridge or the transporter room from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (and have your picture taken)
Not only can you have your picture made, you can also watch a video of yourself beaming out on the transporter - VERY cool!
You can also fight the Borg in a VERY cool flight simulator that will have you going upside down, and all around.
Even the turbolift, or, as earthlings know it, the elevator will be a Trek-riffic experience.
There is a very cool and informative video on this website.

In my previous post here on Star Trek Action Figures, I talked briefly about Captain Christopher Pike, who blazed the trail, and set the ground, for some great adventures in the world of Star Trek, and also the USS Enterprise. Surely, there has been much fan fiction, much speculation, much written, and much imagined about what this Captain was, and would have been, like during and after his command of that mighty starship.
However, in this post, I wish to talk about Captain Kirk. When one comes into any exposure at all of Star Trek, it is very common to think of Captain Kirk, played by William Shatner. The majority of the time that Kirk comes into discussion, the almost immediate follow-up to that conversation is a discussion of Shatner’s acting skills, or lack thereof(if you’re in that camp, mind you.) Today, we won’t be discussing Shatner, but, rest assured, there is much discussion to be had out there.
In this brief article, I will discuss various aspects of Captain Kirk. James Tiberius Kirk was born in Riverside Iowa, to a father, George Samuel, and mother, Winona. Little is known about his father, (but, that will be taken care of in the movie, I imgaine,) but, his mother spent the majority of her life in Iowa. What is known at a young age, Kirk happened to be on a colony called Tarsus IV, where, he witnessed the unnecessary execution of 4,000 colonists, which were kill to spare 4,000 other colonists becuase of a food shortage. It was deemed unnecessary not only because of the sheer loss of human life, but, also because the supply ships, with the food, arrive early, and the entire colony would have been saved.
At some point after that, Kirk entered into Starfleet Academy, where, he excelled to the level of becoming an instructor. Originally designed to be a joke/distraction, a “cute blond lab technician” aimed at Kirk became a near marriage. It is rumored that this “cute blond lab technician” became mother to Kirk’s son, Dr. David Marcus. After that, Kirk graduated with high honors, and was assigned to the USS Repubic. After a short while on this ship, he was assigned to the USS Farragut, where, he again distinguised himself. He went on from this ship to Captain the USS Enterprise.
I will discuss more of Captain Kirk’s career and achievements in a later time. Right now, I’d like to show you an interesting action figure of Captain Kirk. This is a rarity, a “Where no man has gone before” Captain Kirk, surely to be more valuable as time goes by. Yes, in fact, as the Star Trek Movie is about to come out, a “prequel” Kirk is ever to increase in value.
Thanks, and Live Long and Prosper.

To be historically accurate to Star Trek, one must look back at the first “recognized” captain of the USS Enterprise, Captain Christopher Pike. Captain Pike was only portrayed in three episodes, with one of them being a historical viewing of the first time. In this article, I’ll tell a bit about Captain Pike, and give you a link to a really good action figure that portrays him.
Captain Pike was the original (or second after Captain Robert April, not officially recognized by some canon experts) Captain of the USS Enterprise. Captain Pike was originally from the Mojave area, and entered into StarFleet Academy, and after a good and prestigous career, became Captain of the USS Enterprise.
After serving as Captain for over 11 years, he was promoted to Fleet Captain, briefly meeting James T Kirk when he took over the ship. In this new role, Fleet Captain Pike was critically injured while saving a group of officers from a cadet ship. This experience completely devastated his body, to the point of complete paralysis. He was able, through some brain implants, to be able to move the chair slightly, and to communicate “Yes” and “No.”
Captain Pike was an interesting leader of sorts, and contrasted his follower, James Kirk, in several ways. While both were men of action, Pike seemed to be more resolved to brute force when necessary. He did have a soft side, but, was more ready to be a hardcore negotiator, fighter, or captain when necessary. From what we have been able to see, while he had a romantic side, he did not seem to work in it as much as Kirk would later.
While Pike maintained a good and decent loyalty among his staff, he was more removed than Kirk would have been. Pike would struggle more with the inherent lonliness that a Captain would deal with, and while Kirk may have been more personal, and personable, Pike was more of a standoffish leader.
Had Pike stayed with the ship for the run of the original Star Trek series, I have no doubt that we would have seen less love, and more fierceness.
This Star Trek Action Figure, which I just found, presents Captain Pike as we all so fondly remember him, in his command chair, making firm decisions. I hope that you will consider making this a part of your collection.

Wow. Scary dude. Makes you want to grab a phaser and set to kill, eh? I mean, you’d seriously want to have your bat’Leth before you ran across this guy in a dark alley somewhere.
Since 1983, Commander Kruge has become very well known by Klingon aficionados everywhere. Commander Kruge was the bad dude that not only killed Admiral Kirk’s son, he also butchered the USS Grissom, an unarmed science vessel that had been dispatched to study the Genesis planet. With a rare lust for power, even for a Klingon, Kruge was determined to stop at nothing to get what he wanted.
For that Klingon enthusiast, this Commander Kruge, Kruge’s “pet,” and Maltz playset will become the “must have” collection. It will show all of those other “good guy” Trek fans that you mean business. Check it out today by clicking here!
